Orakei Tennis Clubs resident coach Carl Limburger had an enviable record as one of Australia’s leading tennis players before embarking on an extensive coaching career.

Carl has lived in New Zealand since the late 90s, but earlier in his tennis career he was a touring professional on the ATP tour, reaching a singles world ranking of 71, and a doubles world ranking of 53. Carl played multiple times in all the Grand Slams, and also made the Australian Davis Cup squad. In his youth he was a member of the Australian Junior Davis Cup squad. For the last ten years Carl has been heavily involved in coaching. From 2002 onwards he has been operating his own tennis academy in Auckland. The academy is a private tennis school specialising in junior coaching.
